Youth programming at UUCH includes Sunday morning classes for middle schoolers and occassional evening gatherings for high school youth. This middle school group will work with the curriculum "Building Bridges" during the 2016-2017 church year. This program studies the tenets and practices of many world religions and includes several opportunities to visit other houses of worship and religious settings.
Each year our youth (ages 12+) participate in a 30 Hour Fasting event, inspired by previous experience with the '30Hour Famine'. Each year youth participate in the planning of this event that includes fasting, service work, study issues, youth led worship and lots of games!
In January we offer two tiers of Our Whole Lives programming; to Middle School youth in Grades 8 and to High School youth in Grades 10-12. Our Whole Lives (O.W.L.) is a comprehensive sexuality education curriculum published jointly by the Unitarian Universalist Association and the United Church of Christ. Classes are led by a specially trained volunteer team and are held offsite during the months of January-May. We require that participants in the O.W.L. program attend our Sunday youth programming during the Fall session. To learn more about this opportunity please visit http://www.uua.org/re/owl and contact Clare Fortune-Lad, Director of Religious Education, by email or phone, 978-372-5173 x3.
